The Lady Anne (Big Boats), Chinook (Crab Epoch), Comet (Bermudian Epoch), Argos (Classics) and Happy Forever (Spirit of Tradition) are the winners of the 20th edition of the event // ‘We are grateful for the presence in our port of a legendary fleet and for the confidence that the shipowners place in the organisational capacity of our club’.

The trophy ceremony this afternoon marked the end of the XX Copa del Rey Repsol de Barcos de Epoca. The island director of Tourism Promotion of the Consell Insular de Menorca, Begoña Mercadal; the councillor for economic promotion and tourism of the City Council of Mahón, Susana Salom, the president of the Club Marítimo Mahón, Basilio Ferrer, the president of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, Joaquín González-Devesa, the Naval Commander of Mahón, Federico Pérez, the representative of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, Vicente Fullana, the commercial manager of the Marine and Fishing division of Iberia Repsol Mobility in the Balearic Islands, Vicente Fullana;  and the commercial manager of the Marine and Fishing division of Movilidad Iberia Repsol in the Balearic Islands, Miguel Sierra, took part in the prize-giving ceremony.

The Lady Anne (Big Boats), Chinook (Crab Epoch), Comet (Bermudian Epoch), Argos (Classics) and Happy Forever (Spirit of Tradition) are the winners of the twentieth edition of the event, organised by the Club Marítimo de Mahón.

In the final speech, the Maritime Club highlighted:

"Hemos disfrutado de tres excelentes días de regatas y, en conjunto, de un evento deportivo, social y cultural de gran calidad. Esto ha sido posible gracias a la presencia en nuestro puerto de una flota legendaria y a la confianza que los armadores depositáis en la capacidad organizativa de nuestro club. La oportunidad que nos ofrecéis cada año de convertir nuestro puerto en un museo flotante es un auténtico privilegio, tanto para el Club Marítimo, como para la ciudad de Mahón. Nos sentimos profundamente honrados de poder acogeros y ofreceros nuestra hospitalidad”.

“Todos los barcos habéis competido con un espíritu de deportividad ejemplar, pero solo unos pocos han logrado subir al podio. Felicitamos sinceramente a los ganadores y esperamos que consideréis un honor que vuestros nombres se inscriban en el palmarés de esta regata, de la misma manera que nosotros nos sentimos honrados de que vuestros barcos formen parte de la regata”.

El Club Marítimo de Mahón ha rendido homenaje a los barcos centenarios de la Copa del Rey Repsol que han estado presentes en esta edición y que aún no habían recibido este reconocimiento, que inició en año pasado. Los barcos homenajeados son:Tuiga del Yacht Club de Monaco (1909); The Lady Anne de Jaime Botín (1912); Mariette of 1915 de Tropical Shores (1915); Rowdy de Howard Dyer (1916).
